Excellent budget card 9/30/2008 7:37:20 AM

Pros: Excellent budget GPU. It does everything I need it to do without any hickups. I am running this on a dual Vista 64bit and XP Pro system and installing the drivers was a breeze. Of course (and as with anything else) use some common sense and make sure you get the appropriate drivers from MSI if you want to avoid installation and performance problems. I toggle between my LCD monitor (DVI) and my LCD Flatscreen TV (HDMI). This little gem handles both displays without a glitch. Just make sure you set up your audio properties correctly in order to feed the audio signal through the HDMI port, unless you're linking your sound card directly to your receiver. I recently installed a bluray player on my PC and it handles playback marvelously. I am able to watch my flicks using Windows Media Center at full 1080P resolution. Gaming experience described below....

Cons: I can't think of any, since this card is performing exactly as it should.

Overall Review: I didn't expect too much when it comes to gaming, but I was pleasantly suprised at how well this card handles my games. I am a regular Bioshock and COD4 player, as well as sports games like Topspin 2 and FIFA 08 and all of these games play extremely well and without hickups or freezing at medium to medium-high settings. The true test came when I installed and began playing Crysis. After hearing all the horror stories about lockups, systems resetting and BSOD's, I thought I would be another casualty of Crysis... but low and behold... it played flawlessly at Medium-High settings... I couldn't be happier!! And to top things off I just got a $20 check from MSI only a couple of months after submitting my mail in rebate... I highly recommend this product.

Low price coupled with quality 7/15/2008 4:51:11 PM

Pros: It was cheap and was able to run all the games i have so far without any problems. Installation instruction was easy to understand and went without any problems at first.

Cons: For some reason this card doesn't do so well with Vista computer. After installing this product I was plagued with blue screens at unpredictable intervals. After rebooting and reinstalling the Windows the problems continued. Only after I went to the official website to DL the latest driver for the video card it stopped restarting.

Overall Review: It doesn't come with the latest driver and it doesnt update itself, so you have to manually update it from the website. Takes few hours depending on how well you understand installing drivers... Other then that problem the video card runs like a dream.

Pros: Cheap, has HDMI

Cons: I must be doing something wrong since I bought this card based on some of the 'quiet' reviews here. I'm running Vista Premium 64 and have all of the latest ATI CCC running but cannot for the life of me adjust the fan setting on this card. It runs full blast ALL the time. It is so annoying that I have to turn my PC off. If I cannot figure out how to get the fan speed adjusted I will have to get rid of it.

Great 6/28/2008 8:05:16 AM

Pros: Good card for a HTPC. Runs cool and quiet. The HDMI port provides video and sound to my LCD TV. Plays older games like BF2 at max settings. Works great in my old HTPC machine combined with an AMD X2 3800 CPU and 2 GB OCZ DDR Ram.

Cons: This card has the much slower DDR2 memory and cost the same as the faster 3650 512MB DDR3 cards being sold here. If your priority is gaming then you should get the faster DDR3 version for the same price. COD4 runs in the low 20 fps at 1024 x 768 with 2xAA - I'm pretty sure it would be playable at those settings with the DDR3 memory.

Overall Review: I was looking for a card with and HDMI port for my HTPC system. When I saw this card I ordered it right away but I failed to notice that is had the DDR2 memory. I would have rather used a DVI to HDMI adapter and got one of the 3650 cards with the faster DDR3 memory but thats what I get for being in a hurry and not reading specs carefully.

Hard (ok NIGHTMARE) setup in XP 6/28/2008 3:49:26 AM

Pros: Built in hdmi port is certainly a plus, it's also quiet and only a one-slot card.. all of which make it great for home theater pcs. The price is hard to beat also. However, when trying to set it up under XP I ran into so many snags it isn't even funny...

Cons: Upon first inserting the card the HDMI audio would not work even with the drivers on the disk. Somehow, and I do not know how, I finally got the HDMI audio working with the drivers from realtek's website and MSI's website... However, those drivers from MSI's website are NOT COMPATIBLE with the video card for some reason. It gave me all sorts of errors about not supporting and only gave me 4bit color and a small screen. Using the driver disc again (and not installing the HDMI audio drivers) fixed it and left me HDMI audio though. However, then the video options were set to some odd thing in the CCC by defualt which made the video not display when watching movie files. A quick change in the Avivo presets fixed that though, but that isn't something you should have to change.

Overall Review: I have a gaming PC already built so this card will never see games, but I question just how good it would be with the small fan. However, even for a HTPC I don't think I'd buy this again, despite the killer price. The nightmare setup is a big deterrent, although part of it may just be XP since I did some reading on forums and people with vista weren't having as many problems... Once I got everything working right it works nicely so far, but getting there was way too much of a pain. Also of note is that the card has a built in audio driver to output the HDMI audio, so there is no SPDIF loopback needed. Whether this is a pro or a con is hard to say though, as I could see times when SPDIF would be nice (such as a high-end audio card) and I'm not sure if the audio is based off whatever card you have in your PC currently or all on the vid... after the nightmare setup I'm not about to try to find out if I can un-install the realtek drivers from my system and have the card still output HDMI

Great card for the price 6/27/2008 11:17:08 AM

Pros: I'm able to play my mid-level games at 720p and 60 FPS on my HDTV. I love the Catalyst Control Center (downloaded from ATI). The card is only $54.99 (after rebate) for great video playback and mid-level gaming. HDMI built-in is a plus for HTPCs.

Cons: Couldn't do 1080p well on a slightly high-end game. That's quite understandable though. This made my HTPC a bit louder. It's slightly annoying.

Overall Review: The included install disc didn't work with Vista 64-bit. However, ATI has the Vista 64-bit drivers and Catalyst for download. Everything works great so far!

Pros: Cheap HD graphics card with plently of options and good support

Cons: Not the best card in the world but does what it needs to

Overall Review: I haven't been into gaming for a while, but this card satisfies all of my needs. Will probably upgrade it at some point but it isn't necessary right now.
