Replaced OE hard drive with SD drive. Existing unused Molex 4 wire connecter needs this adapter to supply power back to the OE hard drive. Plug in transferred to SD drive has the same 4 wires + a 5th orange colored. Purpose of that wire or more important will the 4 wire adapter power up the hard drive?

I used this connector in that scenario too. It worked perfectly.
