Is there any loss of performance using Molex to SATA adapters? I'll be using it to power an SSD where my SATA chain won't reach.

It doesn't affect performance at all, it either provides power or it doesn't. This adapter doesn't provide 3.3v which is provided normally over a sata power cable but I've yet to see any hard drive or SSD that used the 3.3v provided. These cables are quite common and I've never had any compatibility issues.

Are the Molex end pins on this well held in place? I'm going to be connecting and disconnecting it frequently, and on the last two of my cables like this the pins wiggled and didnt line up right and got bent.

no, they are standard and will not handle repeated disconnects. Consider a SATA drive dray that supports hot swap

Is this available female to female?

I'm trying to think of why you are asking this. Do you have a computer with only SATA power connections and you want to connect a drive with only Molex? In any case, yours is a question for NewEgg or other supplier.

Are the wires on the SATA end molded or crimped on?

If I remember correctly I think it's crimped but really the molex end sucked plugging it in and the sata end was kinda cheap.
