Pros: Unmatched stability and compatibility, actually run at rated timings/clockspeeds, rock-solid compatibility with RAM-picky motherboards (like the Asus Maximus Formula), nice heat spreaders. Top-notch customer service from Mushkin. I'm running these at the rated speeds at well under the rated voltage (1.83v in BIOS) and I'm having no problems.
Cons: I liked my first set of these so much that I got another. One of the modules in the second kit was bad and produced BSODs and errors in Memtest86+. It happens. Over my 14 years of building systems I've had at least one bad stick from just about every RAM manufacturer under the sun. I don't blame Mushkin. They've always made fantastic memory.
Overall Review: I called Mushkin support (after opening a ticket on their web site first...that's important) about my bad module the day after I got my 2nd kit. I was on the phone for about 7 minutes. The advance replacement kit was knocking on my door TWO DAYS later. Great service. To theplaidfad - even the best manufacturers ship out a lemon every now and then. Swearing off a good company forever over one less-than-perfect experience is a rookie mistake. IMHO you should reconsider.
Pros: Stable. Just purchased a E8400 and Abit Ip35pro from Newegg. Ran Prime and it is stsble through all specified settings. Most overclock I have tried just to test limit was 1080 at 450x9 setting on Abit. No problems whatsoever. Have not run higher clocks and do not intend too. Wanted memory which can run with my processor at 4.ghz or at 3.6ghz when I want to run as cool as possible for long periods of time. Ran this at 5-5-515 at 2.0v. Wanted to get a stable 4gb for the inevitable VISTA upgrade.
Special Note: Very attractive heatsinks. No flash and dash like the tracers but very elegant in their design.
Cons: None at all.
Overall Review: First time purchaser. Decided to try the best they have and am quite please that it hit specified speeds as well as some room for wiggle when messing with the bios.
Pros: These are awesome modules. They are running at 1068 right now with no problems whatsoever. These are actually "RedLine" modules, which NewEgg doesn't clearly advertise (except for in one of the pics), so they are very good quality. The red heatsinks are stunning, and function well to cool off the RAM. (They never get more than slightly warm)
Cons: None? I wish I didn't have to submit a mail-in-rebate to get $5 back, but hey, why complain about free money.
Overall Review: Mushkin customer service is phenomenal. The company is located in the U.S.A and I always have a good experience with them. They fully support all of their products, and stand behind them, and the company is accessible to consumers and is always willing
Pros: Great ram. Currently overclocked to 1066 and have no issues. Just bought another kit to up to 8gb.
Cons: None. Run cool and have had 0 memory errors while overclocked.
Pros: Running at 5-5-5-12 1066mhz @ 1.95v, Ran memtest86+ for 15 hours and had no errors. Overall great quality you would expect from mushkin.
Pros: Good price. Quick RAM. Nice looking heat spreader. Free 3dmark. Support @ mushkin.com/forums is the best! Thanks Greg.
Cons: First set I got had a bad stick that put me into multiple BSODs. Tons of errors on memtest. Quick RMA by newegg. Second set is running perfect currently. Passed individual memtests. Currently under the barrage of Prime95 running with no errors as of yet.
Overall Review: Current settings are:
tCL (CAS Latency): 5
Command Per Clock (CMD): 2T
nForce SPP: Auto
MEM (DDR) MHz 1000
Running this in combination with a EVGA 750i F.T.W. and a Q6600 (on stock still).
Pros: Fast and Smooth. A good price for what you get. Great Tech Support!
Cons: Had trouble installing with Vista Ultimate 64. Got BSOD after initial installation.
Overall Review: Like i said brilliant Tech Support. I restorted to my preivious ram, and posted on the Mushkin Forum about my problems. Within a few hours they had a hotfix that windows had that corrected the whole problem.
Just remember to alway run your memory check at boot-up if you are having ram problems. It prevents you mistakenly believing you have a dead stick.
Pros: I called this company years ago for advice on their products.I was highly impressed. This is my third set of Mushkin memory over the years for myself and I couldn't be happier.I have also put together many friends' PCs with mushkin without so much as a hiccup.I have used dominators, ballistics, etc. and I always run into problems.I have always had better results with Mushkin, plain and simple.
Cons: Absolutely zero! I wish more companies were like Newegg and Mushkin.
