Pros: It works well by itself
Cons: But I bought it to go with the same RAM i bought last year to go dual channel. But the one i bought last year had chips on both sides, the new one i just got with the same part number has chips on one side, and now it wont work together right.
Overall Review: If you are buying this to add to RAM you already have, you might be at risk at getting RAM that wont work well with it even if its the same part number.
Pros: Solid 3-3-3-8 strips received - no OBFs , no mem fails
Cons: Requested strips to be identical in their timings and identification due to MOBO's strict memory requirements. Both strips were different - one was 512x32x16 rated at 3-3-3-8 , the other strip was 512x64x8 rated at 3-3-3-8 . The 512x32x16 strip did not identify itself as mushkin using "rightmark memtest" or CPUZ . Instead it identified itself as "unknown". According to Mushkin website, they do not (or are not now) sell 512x32x16 - so my thoughts are cloned or counterfeit strip. The identifier tag on this strip is 1696-1, the authentic strip id is 1905-1.
Overall Review: Both strips are labeled with the same part number (991093) - which is a mushkin part number . However - 991093 is identified on the mushkin website as a 512x64x8. Final thoughts - if you own a strict MOBO in regards to pairing - dont buy this
Cons: If you think that you will have dual channel with your old 991093 ram, you're wrong. The one I just bought has CAS latency 3 old one -2,5. You better check your latency if you're planning to go on dualies.
Pros: I have built 2 systems on this memory, its reliable.i purchased this memory as an alternative to larger name brands and added cost for the same basic quality.Third system bieng built this time its 64 bit.
Cons: no cons if you understand youre buying great base level memory.
Comments: Concur w/bo's review of 6/11/04. Stick had elixir chips on it and memory was bad right out of the box - yielding multiple errors on Memtest. No adjustments (CAS latency, etc) solve the problem. Approach w/caution if you get Elixir chips on Mushkin sticks. At least the shipping was fast and RMA process easy thanks to NewEgg.
Pros: Great Timings, Motherboard recognized it fast.
Cons: Ordered both pieces of memory in a different order, one came with one rank, and the other came with two ranks. Same Timings, Same performance, they just look different.
Overall Review: Do not be alarmed that one stick of memory looks different than the other stick.
P.S. Also, If some people haven't noticed, FedEx is a valid option in shipping choices.
Pros: Fast, Simple and Affordable.
I installed this RAM and System Booted correctly first time. Everything worked fine.
Cons: None to think of.
Overall Review: None
Pros: Owned two sticks for almost 3 years with no problems. Were the only parts of my PC that never had any problems.
Cons: None that I noticed.
