Pros: First foray into SSD and let me tell you my PC has some zip to it now! HD Tune gives me an access time of .1 ms a transfer rate of 121 MB/s minimum, 207 MB/s maximum and an avg. of 190 MB/s. Burst rate is 155 MB/s. This in Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. It's different each time but this is about the average... The best maximum I have seen so far is 220 MB/s. Programs installed on my SATA hard drives are much faster now as well, by a significant amount... games not on the Agility drive have gained a big boost to load times, this was something I did not expect but it makes sense.
Cons: Haven't come close to the 285 MB/s yet. The 3.5" drive adapter is great but will not fit my 5.25" adapter, the screws do not align properly. Also, the 3.5" adapter would not fit in my drive tray in my Cooler Master HAF 932... the pins would not snap all the way in on one side so currently I have it resting on top of my DVD-RW in the 3.5" tray it came with.
Overall Review: The current firmware for this drive is 1.1 NOT 1.6 as stated by another reviewer. The original Agility series has a different firmware (1.6) than the Agility 2 series look very carefully at the downloads section on OCZ's website. This is a new drive and ships with the current firmware. OCZ's website has a lot of info on how to set these up in their forums, check it out. Basically Windows 7 (and Vista) will 'align' the drive properly during formatting, Windows XP won't so you will need to format it first then run XP install. After install you will need to disable superfetch, prefetch, disk defrag, enable write caching and turn off write-cache buffer flushing, disable indexing and make sure Trim is enabled. Not all these are automatic as Microsoft claims, as a matter of fact, I had to do all this manually.
