Pros: Works well in a unibody macbook. Boot times are amazing. VMware brings XP out of suspension in about 5 seconds. Safari launches instantaneously and Office 2008 takes about 1 second to launch. Simply put, this is the best upgrade you can do for a mac laptop.

Cons: Still rather expensive.

Pros: Blazing fast, giving me read speed of 215MB/s on SATA2 and 126MB/s on SATA1 interface without any tweaks from OCZ forums. Noiseless. No stuttering. My 2-year old Windows vista boots up in 40 seconds from cold start. Freshly installed Windows 7 boots up in 20-25 seconds even on my SATA1.

Cons: Nothing I am aware of so far.

Overall Review: Installed in my old DELL XPS M1210. This laptop has SATA1 interface only, so I limited to SATA1 bandwidth. Regardless, its 126MB/s compared to native Hitachi 7200RPM with 49MB/s. Didn't do any tweaks or anything. Just unpacked, and put it to my laptop. Cloned my old 100GB harddrive onto Vertex using Acronis True Image in 30 minutes. Vertex works just fine, would recommend to everyone.

Pros: The drive itself worked fine for about 2.5 months.

Cons: OCZ Tech Support is very poor. The representative who helped me attempt to troubleshoot the drive through online support was very good to work with. Once it was determined that the drive was totally dead, I sought a prompt replacement. I've been told that this drive is not available and so who knows when I'll get a replacement. This was the boot drive of a critical system. I understand that problems will happen with cutting edge technology, but I expect prompt replacement under warranty. I'm willing to pay for cross shipping, but instead OCZ is telling me the item isn't even available. I wish I would have bought Intel instead.

Pros: NO studding, NO hang time on apps and programs. windows loads in less then 60 sec.

Cons: You have to edit the windows reg. files to get the best performance and life out of this SSD, just go to OCZ forms or Google it.

Overall Review: I upgraded from WD 160GB 7,200rpms (SATA1 1.5Gb). cant wait tell thy come out with the 1TB SSD's! :D I highly recommend getting the Athena Power BP-SATA2221B 3.5" tray-less bay for Dual 2.5" SATA HDD/SSD Hot-Swappable Backplane Unit only uses 1 SATA power connector and 2 individual SATA connectors, you can have one or 2 drives with out taking up room like the ICY DOCK.

Pros: Very Fast Low Power consumption Cost - Fantastic, my 1st WD Raptor was $300 dollars or or so for 72GB

Overall Review: the SSD market and technology has really taken off in the last year. I was amazed to see that I could afford a reasonable sized SSD. I put one of these in a DELL D610 and am getting around 135 MB/s which is 4 to 5x faster than my WD Black. it obviously isn't as fast as the specs say it should run, but i'm limited to an older motherboard and SATA controllers. The performace difference on the laptop is still incredible. We installed another of these drives on a newer HP 8710w laptop, and are benching around 230 MP/s read and 180 MB/s write. Again fantastic. It will be interesting to see how the performance is a few months from now after the effects of fragmenation take hold etc. If the drive holds up, then these are really a no brainer for any laptop user to dramatically increase your performance across the board.

Pros: I plugged this drive on my current laptop which is a Dell 1720 inspiron using a SATA I ICH8M controller (Bios A09). The speeds cap at 60-70MB/s (write) and 130-140MB/s (no new firmware installed yet) which is a huge performance gain from the 5400 RPM drive. Bootup is amazingly fast and no more waiting for the HD drive to finish loading files after windows has loaded. Applications are more snappier.

Cons: The Os tweaks are required for windows and can be confusing depending on how you intend to use the drive. The technology is also new so I cannot say Im 100% sure about the reliability. Had a weird bug where both drives disappeared on a restart. Drive life expectancy is still uncertain. If this drive lasts more than 3 years then it is worth the investment.

Overall Review: If you can have 2 hard drives then I would suggest going hybrid. Have the SSD as the OS drive and have data saved or written on the traditional HDD.

Pros: Was great for the first 7 months...

Cons: After 7 months of working, started getting corrupted files and it soon after bricked altogether.

Overall Review: To make matters worse, OCZ hasn't even bothered responding to my RMA request yet. Horrible customer service. Stay away from OCZ SSDs.

Pros: This drive ships with 1.30 firmware. The current firmware at this time is 1.41b, via OCZ's forums. This beta firmware adds garbage collection to the drive, with support for TRIM commands from the OS. There will be another update next week to separate out these two tasks. Garbage collection is OCZ's own TRIM initiation on the firmware- no OS needed. I like that. And it's the only drive with it.

Cons: It's bleeding edge, but among all the SSD's you can buy this is the only one with the flexibility to address the outstanding issues of SSD architecture. The real cons are not having 600 MB/s SATA III, not having x16 PCI-e SSD tweaked Hardware RAID controllers, and lastly not having 4-bay SSD drive cage's that look as cheap as they actually are. None of this has to do with OCZ. It's just the state of the SSD Union in general. Moving on...

Overall Review: I coulda bought any SSD I wanted, and I did. Some SSD's are faster. Some SSD's are made by really big company's with lots of manpower and very little foresight while releasing firmware that locks your drive**<Oops!>**. Some SSD's are made by companies on an island where their website barely loads from the Mainland. And some SSD's are made by people that care about their support and the products they sell you. OCZ is the latter.
