Overall Review: I've got 40 PCs sans hard drives. I've got at least 100 hard drives. Motherboards are SATA only. Hard drives are only PATA. I have to get these things up, running and ready to sell before the first or I'm going to get stuck with them for another month. They're not getting any younger.
The cheapest SATA hard drive available at the moment costs more than I've paid for a few cars I've owned. For sure more than any of these computers are going to bring.
I ordered these with a bunch of PCI IDE cards to save some jack and I gotta say, this is definitely the way to go. I've been burning through these suckers the last few days. They're pretty well made (I mean, their not components for a particle collider or anything) and slipped right on.
Worked well for Corsair 400r case2/23/2012 7:11:01 PM
Pros: The front fans on the Corsair 400r case come pre-wired to a handy front panel button. Unfortunately, the power connector for that harness is a four pin molex. That meant I had to install a molex power cable on my modular power supply just to power those fans.
This adapter let me power the fans from the SATA power cable I already had installed for the hard drive and DVD burner.
Pros: Cheap and Easy.
Cons: None.
