HDMI Support for 3D Video and Audio Return ChannelThe HDMI implementation on the HT-RC370 receiver supports both 3D video and an Audio Return Channel, along with numerous high-resolution formats. 3D video brings exciting possibilities to home entertainment, with movie, game, and broadcast content on the increase and 3D-compatible TVs now on the market. Meanwhile, the Audio Return Channel allows audio content received directly by your HDTV’s tuner to be sent “upstream” via HDMI to your A/V receiver, without the need for a separate S/PDIF audio cable.
THX Select2 Plus CertifiedTHX Select2 Plus certification incorporates THX Loudness Plus, and is designed for AV receivers in rooms where the screen-to-seat viewing distance is approximately 10-12 feet, and the room size is approximately 2000 cubic feet. AV receivers that achieve THX Select2 Plus certification meet the world’s most demanding home theater standards for audio quality and performance, and promise to play at reference volume levels with minimal distortion. Because ambient sounds and bass can be lost or perceived differently when the volume is lowered, THX Loudness Plus automatically adjusts the front-to-back speaker level and frequency balance to ensure you experience all of the rich details of movies when listening below reference level.

Pros: Too many to list. I could tell you all it does but read the manual at Onkyo.com. Some of the small things I was impressed included being able to determine how loud the unit will be when you turn it on no matter how loud you had it when you turned it off. 3 different dimmer light settings for the front panel. The ability to set the starting sound of each HDMI hookup. Three macros buttons, My Movie, My TV and My Music. Just hit the one you want and everything turns on automatically. I just don't see the need for my Harmony anymore. Again, download the manual and make up your own mind.
Cons: The manual is a little difficult to understand but there is so much this unit will do and most is explained in great detail so maybe more of a con/pro.
Overall Review: This receiver replaced a 5 year old Pioneer VSX-84TXSi which cost me $995. This unit was $466 less and does much more. The only thing I was concerned with was power. My great room is 20X13 and I have a 5.1 system. The sound is excellent with no issues on power. Buy this unit. You will not be disappointed.
