does it come with Word and Excel?

It has Microsoft Office loaded (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), but you only get a 30-day trial version before you have to start paying for it.  I highly recommend using opensource office software.  I have LibreOffice downloaded and it does EVERYTHING that Microsoft Office does, including uploading and saving files in Microsoft format.  I actually prefer LibreOffice to Microsoft Office, and it's free!

Can a hard drive be added to this with  the sdd?

Yes it can.  In fact I added one to mine, there is a dummy HDD that I removed and inserted my WD Blue 3D NAND SATA SSD it's place .  follow the steps as shown at ifixit guide and search for  LenovoFlex hard drive replacement

From edge of key to edge of key, the keyboard is right about 11" x 4 1/8".

To upgrade to Windows 10 Pro all you need to do is input the Windows 10 Pro activation key under the "Change Product Key" in Settings.

does the camera work with windows hello facial recognition?

Don't know if it does,but there's a fingerprint reader to log a user into windows.  My other computer uses the webcam and sometimes I need to stand on my head to get it to read---  (Kidding, but it does need the right lighting  and be at the right angle or it will time out to a character prompt,)
