Copying vhs tapes, how many minutes long will 1 disc hold?

I have never used any BD-Rs - single or dual layer to copy VHS tapes, so I can't say from personal use. You might also keep in mind that the Quality of the recording is only going to be as good as the Source you are recording from. VHS tapes aren't at all the same quality as a Standard DVD, let alone a Blu-Ray disc. If I wanted to copy VHS tapes to a different media, I would just use standard or DL DVDs - unless you want to store a whole series on 1 disc, it just seem to me that you are wasting the additional quality (audio & video) of a BD-R/DL BD-R to record VHS tapes. I'm not saying that good quality VHS tapes aren't a decent picture, BUT why waste a BD-R for backing up tapes? You WILL NOT get a better quality recording than using standard DVDs.    
    ...I use both to back-up my Blu-Ray Movie collection so I don't damage my originals, especially if someone borrows a Movie. 
    I assume that the DL would be twice as much capacity as the single layer (obviously) which would be 46.6GB usable space. Even thought they are 50GB, you have to remember that like a HDD, some of the space is not available. Anyway, this is what the specs are for the Single-Layer BD-R discs from the same Mfgr:

     Hopefully this helps a little anyway.....Like I said, I use them to back-up my Retail Movies - I use DVDFab Platinum & Imgburn (FREE Program). DVDFab isn't free, but it works really well & with Imgburn, you can pre-set the writing speed of the Media so you are less likely to have a bad burn --- again it is much better NOT to burn faster than the Media is rated for even if your software allows it. Of course there is other software available besides DVDFab (which also cost less) that can be used with Imgburn.
