Question 1

Is the power on/off button a toggle switch or a real ON/OFF Switch?  I need the dock to stay powered up in the event there is a power outage and the power is restored.

There is a small button which you press to turn on and off the unit. However, in the event of a power failure, my unit does NOT turn on after power is restored.

Will it work on Windows 10 64 bit?

Yes no problems at all with Windows 10, Windows 7, or Server 2012

Does this support up to 6 or 8 tb . Reading thru the specs  one says 6 the other 8 ?

Their web site says: "8619USB3 supports 8TB for 3.5 inch hard drives, 2TB for 2.5 inch hard drives."

Does this drive mount work well with linux?

It works as a separate drive, however, i do not know for sure if it will work as a boot drive

My system keeps disconnecting & reconnecting this drive for no reason. Every time it reconnects, Windows wants me to format it, when it doesn't need it. 
 It worked fine when I first plugged it in and copied some files off of it, then my system began being stupid to it. Are there dedicated drivers for this? Or can I somehow make it cease the reconnections?

Mine works w/o problems. Check cable connections and try another drive.  The windows  format problem seems drive related

Do the drives spin down after inactivity?

I Tested it out this weekend. It kept spinning  and even after I turn off the computer.
