Yes. It makes a bit-perfect copy. I used it to move from a 1TB drive to a 2TB drive. Cloned the 1TB to the 2TB, and put the new drive into the old system. It started right up. Note that it kept the 1TB partition size, so after cloning my new system at a 2TB drive with a 1TB partition and 1TB free. I had to use a software tool to expand the partition to 2TB.

The product is designed for M Key NVMe PCIe SSDs but does not specify compatibility with PCIe Gen 4 or Gen 5 SSDs. It supports cloning between M.2 NVMe SSDs of sizes 2242, 2260, 2280, and 22110.

I want to clone a "256 GB NVMe SSD" to a "1 TB NVMe SSD" and be able to use the extra space on the 1 TB NVMe SSD.  Is that also possible?

It should work.  After the cloning, the cloned drive will initially have a 256 GB partition.  You'll have to open the cloned drive in Windows Disk Management and tell it to expand the partition to use the disk's entire 1 TB capacity.

Once a NVME is inserted, can you copy files from the PC to it?

Yes. It will default to read/write mode and show up as one (or two) external drive(s) when you plug it in USB. There is a separate button to go into clone mode.
