This is one of those mics where I think its quality is very much the product of how well it's used. It has the ability to pick up a lot of background noise, etc. However, if you pull it closer to you and have an environment where you can tone down extraneous sources of noise, it can work very well.

In short, it can work well, but it takes some work if you don't have a good environment for recording already set up.
