The design is compact and perfect for traveling photojournalists or travel photographers. The focus button helps the user intuitively handle the autofocus and quickly select the desired settings. This feature prevents the subject from going out of frame before the capture settings are achieved. Further, the auto-clutch mechanism prevents unwanted rotation of the focus ring, providing the user great control over focus settings.
The design comes with a glass-molded aspherical element that reduces chromatic and spherical aberrations and limits distortion. The rounded 9-blade diaphragm renders astounding bokeh quality images. Further, the large aperture results in higher shutter speed, which is perfect for fast-moving objects.
The lens is appropriate for full-frame A-mount cameras; however, it is compatible with APS-C models also. The lens provides a 52.5 mm equivalent focal length in APS-C models. Further, the minimum focus distance of 118" and 0.2 x magnification together provide incredible close-up shots.
