This moisture meter for plants is an analog soil moisture meter designed to help check root zone moisture before watering. The set includes 1 soil moisture meter, 25 pH test strips, and 1 sample tube. The meter features a Dry Moist Wet dial with a 1 to 10 scale and a 6.5 in probe for checking moisture in soil near the root zone. The included pH strips are for separate soil pH testing using a collected sample.

How to use: Wipe the probe clean before testing, then insert it into the soil near the plant root zone. For best contact, place the probe about 2 to 5 inches into loose soil if your pot depth allows and gently press soil around the probe to reduce air gaps. Wait a few seconds for the needle to settle, then read the dial. On the 1 to 10 moisture scale, 1 to 3 indicates dry soil that may need watering, 4 to 7 indicates moderate moisture, and 8 to 10 indicates wet soil. Remove the probe within 5 minutes after reading, wipe it clean, and store it dry. If the soil is extremely dry, lightly moisten it first to help improve contact. Do not leave the probe in soil long term.

Before buying, please confirm your pot depth can accept a 6.5 in probe. This soil meter is for soil only and is not intended for testing water, hydroponic reservoirs, or other liquids. It is also not suitable for very hard, rocky, or heavily compacted ground that may prevent proper contact or damage the probe.
