Long the flagship of Spydercos Value Folder family, the incredibly popular Tenacious® was created to provide all the signature qualities of a Spyderco CLIPIT® design in a budget-friendly format. More recently, this best-selling design has also evolved to include upscale versions showcasing high-performance materials and enhanced features. The Tenacious R.I.L. Disarray Finish elevates the design by expressing it with solid titanium handle scales, a high-strength Reeve Integral Lock (R.I.L., aka frame lock) mechanism, a D2 tool steel blade, and a stunning Disarray finish on the handle scales. This proprietary heat-anodizing process is individually applied to each solid titanium scale to produce a breathtaking one-of-a-kind color pattern. This knifes beautifully polished scales provide the structure for its sturdy R.I.L. mechanism, which is meticulously machined into the reverse-side scale and includes a stainless steel insert. The insert provides a long-wearing steel-to-steel interface for the lock and serves double duty as an overtravel stop to preserve the lock bars spring tension over time. The knifes full-flat-ground PlainEdge blade offers superior edge geometry and maximizes D2s excellent combination of edge retention and toughness. To ensure convenient carry and immediate access, the handle includes a broad-based pocket clip that can be mounted in four different positions to provide a choice of left or right-side, tip-up or tip-down carry. The Tenacious R.I.L. Disarray Finish is available in two versionsone with a satin-finished blade and brightly finished handle hardware and one with a black-oxide-coated blade and matching black-coated hardware.
