How accurate is the iPet PRO Blood Glucose Monitor for my pet?
The iPet PRO is calibrated for dogs and cats, ensuring lab-quality accuracy. Its species-specific technology provides reliable readings, comparable to veterinary devices, for precise diabetes management.
How often should I test my pet’s blood glucose levels?
Test frequency depends on your pet’s diabetes management plan. Most veterinarians recommend testing before meals, after meals, and at various times throughout the day to track glucose changes. Talk to your vet to determine the best testing schedule.
How do I properly collect a sample from my pet?
Use the ear, paw pad, or inner lip for sampling. Massage the area to increase blood flow, then use the lancet to obtain a drop of blood. Apply sample to the test strip, and the meter will give results in seconds.
What is the Glucode Chip, and why is it important?
The Glucode Chip ensures accurate calibration with each new batch of test strips. Since test strips can have slight variations between batches, using the Glucode Chip helps maintain consistent, reliable readings.
Are test strips compatible with other meters?
iPet PRO test strips can only be used with the iPet PRO meter.

Calibrating your meter is essential for accurate glucose measurements.
Before using your iPet PRO meter, it's crucial to calibrate it using the glucode chip included with each new bottle of test strips. This calibration process aligns the meter with your current batch of test strips to ensure accurate readings.
Lancing Device
Adjustable lancing device provides more comfort.
Collecting a blood sample using a lancing device on a dog or cat requires care, patience, and proper technique to ensure both accuracy and minimal discomfort. Each iPet PRO kit comes with an adjustable lancing device and 30 lancets. Additional lancets can be purchased separately.
For best results, collect the blood sample from the ear, paw pad or inner lip. Optimal depth level for the lancing device is between 3 and 5. Gently massage the area to increase blood flow before using the lancet.
Work With Your Veterinarian
Consult with your veterinarian to create a testing schedule and treatment plan.
Home testing with the iPet PRO provides stress-free, accurate readings in your pet’s natural environment, helping you track glucose trends between vet visits. However, it’s important to work with your veterinarian to create a testing schedule and adjust treatment plans based on both at-home and in-clinic results.
Your vet can help avoid common mistakes and errors in testing. If you are having issues with your iPet PRO, contact your veterinarian or call the phone number on our package.
