What kind of charger comes with this tablet? Wall, USB, etc.

It's a ad/dc power adapter charger- not a usb. If you look up "5v 2a/2000mah ac adapter" you'll have a better idea.

It's not as convenient as the mini/micro usb chargers that you can just plug into any generic USB wall or car charger, but they do make car charger versions of this charger. You can find them online for less than 6 bucks.

refurb unit. some how they still have a part of video in it from the previous owner. the unit I bought has been used. I was disappointed. I just used once and set in the corner. the product is not that good, it so slow. it turn out not as I expected. I am not happy with the order.

Yes, it supports wi-fi.  Instructions for configuring wi-fi (it's very easy, just type in your network key #) are in the instruction manual included with the tablet.

I have 7 children ages 4-8. They school they are attending is going to start allowing them to have tablets at school to help with learning. Do you think this would be a good item for young children? (They know how to work the IPads and laptops already)

Short answer... Yes, and you have my deepest respect for accepting the gift of raising a large (and young!) family.

On the pro side, it is a moderately capable android tablet with a price point that sets it really close to truly being disposable when they inevitably break or fail.

Of the 8 that were handed out at Christmas, I think we are down to 5 that "work-work" still (though I plan to try to frankenstein a couple back into one that works).

The issues: #1 LCD was smashed on day 2 of ownership, #2 digitizer cracked, but worst of all is #3 which simply will not charge due to apparently bad connection of both the charging port and the USB connector. #4 will only charge if you push the charging cable in at a particular angle and hold it super steady for hours. Finally, I think that only 3 or 4 of the wall warts still works (wiring at the barrel plug end is not sturdy).

My 6-year-old absolutely cherishes it. She is the one who takes the best care of hers, and really values it. Her reaction at Christmas was worth all of the cost.

The keyboard-case is a novelty, but has not been useful or used in practice.

Bi-directional USB is neat. The kids were swapping media-filled thumbdrives between tablets for the long holiday roadtrip.

The "app store" that it uses is Aptoide, not Google Play, which is OK, except that several of the google apps will update and die b/c Google Play Services will not successfully update.

Finally, if you do order this, it is a tossup whether you get the PLT7044K _OR_ the PLT7044K-B. The B version has half of the advertised flash space, but they are otherwise similar. Google search can tell you more about the difference.

If you have "wireless" internet in your home yes, these will log onto your wifi router. You will need to enter your router password if you have "secured" wireless. Wherever you go it will show you what networks are available and the locked ones will ask you for passwords. Motel clerks and hospital information desks should be able to give you the password to access their wireless. Many "wifi hotspots" are unlocked and you can just connect without a password. 
  If you do not have wireless internet you can purchase a wireless "wifi" router for around $20.

Can this be used to watch movies or shows and what kind of batery and how long will it stay charged?

I am unsure as to if I can watch movies on it yet as it only came in 2 days or so ago.  The battery however did not seem to last very long and I charged it all night before i turned it on.  All in all though I have put games and stuff on it and for a cheap item its great!

Does this make a good reader? Is downloading books quick and easy?

I wanted to read books in PDF & ePub formats as well as comics (cbz format). Adobe Reader can be installed to handle the PDF docs and ACV does the comics. Once you get Google Play installed, you can download Nook from there to handle the ePub documents. The PDF and comics look good, but they look better on my Nook Tablet and the capability to read all these documents was built in it.

It has 4GB of NAND Flash and. And it has a Micro SD slot that can support a Micro SD card up to 32GB. Over all its a good tablet for the price, plus it comes with Android so you have 1,000+ apps for it. I got it for my MOM (she is 55yrs old) and had not been using any type of technology, but it was so easy to learn that now she absolutely loves it and does not know how she survived before without it. I would diffidently recommend it not only for your self but it makes a great gift for someone else also!!!
