Usage Warnings: 1. Lead is a hazardous substance. 2. Ensure you wear protective gear when handling the mold and exercise caution during heating and pouring of lead. 3. Use dry molds, as water can cause molten lead to splatter and makes handling unsafe. When discarding unwanted lead, please consult your local authority for proper disposal methods.
Steps to follow before pouring: It is advisable to preheat the mold prior to use. Place scrap lead into a melting pot and heat until it becomes molten. Once the lead has melted, use a ladle to skim off any impurities that have risen to the surface. Insert the hanger wire (use wire only if you are making a sinker that requires a central hole) into the mold.
Pouring step: After completing the above preparations, pour the molten lead into the mold until the cavity is full. Wait for 10 seconds or longer, then proceed to open the mold. Use pliers to trim any excess lead from the sinker, and the production process is finished.
