- Does APRS work on this radio?
No, the UV-5RM Plus GPS radio does not have the APRS function yet. But this radio support firmware update and the Baofeng team will keep on improving the radio. Please stay tuned with us! ;)
- Can't make the GPS to work?
- Please make sure the radio has been programmed with contacts: Find the Contacts in the CPS under MDC, and input the contacts list.
- Go to menu ? Radio Setting ? #21 ID Verification ? Select a Contact for your radio
- Go to menu ? GNSS ? Turn on the GNSS ? Select the correct Time Zone ? Go into GPS Info ? Turn on the Share position and Request Position
- Make sure the radios you want to share position are all on the same frequency as your radio does (same CTCSS/DCS as well). Then your GPS should work properly.
p.s. The UV-5RM Plus GPS can only share locations with UV-5RM Plus GPS / 5RM GPS / 5RM PRO GPS / 5RH PRO / UV-5RM PRO GPS. And the radio can't transmit or receive while sharing or checking location.
- The radio cannot transmit or receive
Please check if your TX/RX frequency and CTCSS/DCS are correct. Additionally, distance and ANT may also affect the communication.
- Cannot program the radio / Radio does not respond to the CPS
Please check if the cable is securely plugged in and the correct port is selected. If the issue persists, try a different USB port or another programming cable. The UV-5RM Plus GPS can be downloaded on baofengradio. com ? Download Page under Sup port ? find UV-5RM PLUS GPS
