Phat Cat - Neck - Nickel - Electric Guitar Pickup

The Phat Cat is an authentic single-coil P90 Soapbar designed to fit under a humbucker cover, intended for guitars equipped with humbuckers. It was initially created in the Custom Shop for Hamer Guitars, but later entered regular production due to high demand. These pickups provide the genuine grit and growl characteristic of a classic vintage P90 Soapbar in the bridge position, along with the true P90 bounce and sparkle in the neck position. Chords exhibit bright, ringing harmonic overtones, while solos offer that signature P90 cut and edge. Two Alnico 2 bar magnets are employed for enhanced sustain and a compressed attack, and the metal covers offer improved shielding and noise reduction compared to standard soapbar covers.

Additional features consist of a nickel silver bottom plate, single-conductor braided hookup wire, and vacuum wax potting for operation free of squeal. The neck model is RW/RP (reverse wind, reverse polarity) relative to the bridge pickup, enabling noiseless performance when used in combination. Crafted by hand in Santa Barbara, California, with dedication to designing and building products that produce exceptional sound.
