The Poly Blackwire 8225 is a wired, stereo on-ear headset with a noise-cancelling microphone, USB-C connection, and USB-C/A adapter, suited to Microsoft Teams users who want a plug-in headset for calls at a desk.
Recommended For
- People taking frequent calls from a noisy home or shared workspace who want a boom microphone designed to reduce background noise picked up by callers, plus adjustable ANC for listening.
- Microsoft Teams users who work mainly at a computer and want a wired headset with a dedicated Teams button and inline call, mute, and volume controls.
- Desk-based workers who want a wired connection and the flexibility to connect through USB-C or the included USB-C-to-USB-A adapter, without relying on a headset battery.
- Call-heavy office or hybrid workers who prefer a lightweight on-ear headset with adjustable fit and use it primarily for meetings and voice calls.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- In a shared office, use the Blackwire 8225 for Teams calls while nearby coworkers are talking; its microphone noise reduction is designed to limit background sound picked up by your mic, helping callers focus on your voice.
- When working from home with household or neighborhood noise nearby, use the headset’s adjustable ANC to reduce some surrounding sound for yourself, while the boom mic helps keep your voice central on calls.
- For a customer-support or other call-heavy role, use it for repeated computer-based calls; the wired USB connection avoids managing a wireless headset battery, and the noise-reducing mic is intended to help callers hear you over workplace chatter.
- During a Microsoft Teams meeting, use the inline call and mute controls to manage the conversation without reaching for on-screen controls; the Teams-certified version also has a dedicated Teams button.
- At a desk, switch between a USB-C-equipped computer and a USB-A port using the included adapter, keeping the same wired headset available across different work setups.
