The Poly Blackwire 8225 is a wired, stereo on-ear USB-C headset with a noise-cancelling microphone and USB-C/A adapter, suited to calls and online meetings on compatible computers where a dependable wired connection is preferred.
Recommended For
- Call-center and shared-office staff who take frequent computer calls and want a boom mic designed to reduce background office noise for callers.
- Remote and hybrid workers who handle calls in a noisy home or office and want adjustable headset ANC to help reduce distractions while listening.
- Desk-based users who prefer a dependable wired USB connection for meetings and calls, without needing to manage a wireless headset battery.
- Teams and Zoom users who want an on-ear headset with inline call controls for computer-based meetings and voice calls.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- In a shared office or busy home, a user can take a work call while the headset’s noise-reducing microphone helps limit nearby background sounds picked up by callers; it can reduce distractions but should not be treated as complete sound isolation.
- When concentrating on a call or spoken content in a noisy office, the user can switch on the headset’s active noise cancellation to reduce surrounding noise they hear; voices and other sounds may still be audible.
- For a remote meeting or customer call on a compatible computer, the user can keep both hands free and use the boom microphone and inline call controls to speak, mute, and adjust volume without reaching for the computer.
- At a desk or on a shared workstation, a user can connect to a computer with USB-C or use the included USB-C-to-A adapter where the computer has a USB-A port, making the wired headset practical for switching between compatible setups.
- During a webinar, online training, or video meeting, the user can hear the other participants through both earcups while speaking through the headset microphone, keeping incoming speech and their own microphone on one wired device.
