Turntables use magnetic cartridges to transmit the sound from the record groove to wires that eventually connect to a control amplifier. However the signal output from the magnetic cartridge is at a very low level which requires a special "phono stage" input not commonly found on many of today's new audio devices.
The AMERICAN RECORDER VDC-141 Phono Preamp input has a built-in phono stage with RIAA equalization for direct connection to a turntable . The VDC-101 output then is a line-level signal so it can connect to audio devices CD DVD TAPE etc. inputs. There is also a ground lug for proper turntable grounding. Power supply included.
