The Boya unidirectional microphone BY-VM01 is a compact and lightweight condenser microphone designed for both video and still cameras, offering superior sound quality compared to the built-in microphones of video DSLRs. Attaching easily to the camera hot shoe via its universal cold shoe adapter, this microphone utilizes a 3.5 mm mini-plug to connect to the camera's microphone jack for audio transmission. Below the cold shoe connection, there is a threaded mount, enabling external attachment onto a tripod. Additionally, the microphone features a cable stop mechanism that secures the cable in place, preventing accidental noise during recordings.
