Is this a galaxy s7 or galaxy s7 edge?

I will no longer do business with Newegg as I returned the phone because it wouldn't work with my carrier and I still haven't been refunded my money.

Does this model support Samsung Pay?

The refurbed phone that I bought had the Samsung Pay app installed on it when I received it, but I have not used that app.

Do I have to (and can I) specify which carrier I use or can I simply get non carrier unlocked?  I also DO NOT want the March security update and would prefer Android 6 over 7.  Is this possible?  What exact OS does it come with?

I purchased this phone unlocked to use with Republic wireless.....I have since dropped Republic and gone with Puretalk USA, without any problem.....I don't know if all carriers can use this phone or not, probably any who sell Samsung.
It started with Android 6, and at some point updated with Android 7....don't remember if I had any say in the matter.  But Android 7 is fine.

Question 4

Title states SM-G930U but specs say it is AT&T branded (SM-930A).  Which is it?

It is the unlocked version. Buyer beware though. Samsung has been extremely slow with rolling out updates to this phone. In fact, it was the VERY last S7 in the ENTIRE WORLD to receive Android 7 Nougat. Very frustrating to deal with the lack of support for this model.

can this phone only be used on verizon network?

I use mine with net10, so using it with another network should be fine. All I had to do was put my SD card in and it worked fine.

I looked at the "Cell Phone Carrier Compatibility Chart" above to see if the phone was compatible with my company - it looks like they have just about every carrier listed EXCEPT Boost Mobile. Is this phone compatible with that carrier?

The phone is both GSM and CDMA compatible. It works with all companies.

Will this work with straight talk byop plans?

Indeed it does. I brought my phone to Straight Talk first then Family mobile. With it being GSM and CDMA it works for all companies.
