How do you get it to open?

On mine, the side opposite the USB 3 notch, which is also the side that does not have "Hard Drive Enclosure" written on the board, is the side that opens AKA the top. Push the top away from the USB port. The top is at the upper edge of the side with the USB port only. It will slide all the way away from the USB port.
