CANON CARTRIDGE 045 BLACK

The Canon Cartridge 045 Black (model 1242C001) is a single black toner cartridge for compatible Canon imageCLASS printers, with an approximate yield of 1,400 pages. It suits owners of the LBP612Cdw, MF632Cdw, or MF634Cdw who need black toner for routine printing.

Recommended For

• Owners of a Canon imageCLASS LBP612Cdw, MF632Cdw, or MF634Cdw who need a genuine replacement black toner cartridge; Canon lists these models as compatible.
• Home-office and small-office users printing mostly black-and-white text documents, such as forms, correspondence, and reports; a review of the LBP612Cdw rated its text quality excellent.
• Compatible-printer owners who prefer Canon genuine toner engineered for their device rather than choosing a third-party cartridge.
• Users whose black-toner needs fit a standard-yield cartridge: Canon rates the 045 Black for up to 1,400 pages under the ISO/IEC standard.

Real-World Use Scenarios

• When a home office or small team needs to print black-and-white invoices, forms, letters, or reports on a compatible imageCLASS printer, this cartridge supplies the black toner for crisp text; its stated yield is approximately 1,400 pages under standard testing conditions.
• For routine office paperwork that needs both sides printed, use the black cartridge with a compatible printer's automatic duplex feature to produce readable two-sided documents without manually turning pages.
• When printing color reports or web pages on a compatible color imageCLASS printer, the black cartridge handles black text while the other cartridges provide color; it is a practical replacement when black text starts fading or the printer reports low black toner.
• For a small office that prints black text regularly but uses color only occasionally, replacing the black cartridge lets everyday monochrome documents continue without replacing the color cartridges at the same time, provided those cartridges still have toner.
• When the black cartridge is depleted during a busy work period, keep a replacement on hand so printing can resume; on the MF634Cdw, Consumer Reports notes that printing stops if black toner runs out, even when color toner remains.
