This is because the threads' diameters less than 20mm are not suitable; many USB microphones have bottom threads of 5/8 inch, which is smaller than 20 mm. Furthermore, microphones without threads at the bottom cannot be tightened onto our shock mount, such as the AT2035 and Heil PR40.
