SmartTone TechnologyFollow the steps below to activate the SmartTone function. Slide the toner units switch to the TONE position. Connect the red and black test leads to corresponding wires. Press the button twice to switch to alternating tones. At the remote end of the cable, use the probe to locate the wire pair producing the loudest signal. Keep the probe powered on, then short and disconnect the wires within this pair. Verify your target wire pair by observing changes in the tone output.
