The all-new 500 Series "e" revision arrives with an 8" model featuring a 2.5" voice coil and 100oz magnet, along with 10", 12", and 15" models featuring 3" voice coils with 120oz magnet motors. These new drivers include an extra 12mm of top plate and longer coil windings, resulting in a 50% increase in Xmax. Power handling rises to 500 Watts on the 508 and 750 Watts on the 510, 512, and 515. Upgrades in this series feature cones with fiberglass-loaded non-pressed treated paper, taller and thicker EROM surrounds with black stitching, heavier dual layering with integrated tinsel leads, and new basket and motor boot designs that enhance cosmetics.
