- 1 x 3015924900 Evaporator Fan Motor for Refrigerator
Installation Steps:1. Disconnect Power: Locate the refrigerator's power cord and unplug it from the wall outlet.
2. Locate the Fan Assembly:
For most models: The evaporator fan is located in the freezer compartment, behind the back panel or the rear ceiling panel.
For some models: It may be located in the refrigerator compartment behind a rear panel. You may need to remove shelves and drawers to access the area.
3. Remove the Cover Panel:
Find the screws holding the plastic interior panel in place. They may be hidden under plastic caps. Use your screwdriver to remove these screws. Carefully pry off the panel. You may need to use a putty knife to gently release plastic clips.
4. Remove the Old Fan Motor: Once the panel is off, you will see the old fan motor.
5. Take a picture with your phone of the wiring connections. This is your reference for installing the new motor.
Disconnect the wire harness plug that connects to the old motor. Unscrew the mounting bracket or clips that hold the motor in place.
Lift the old fan motor out.
5. Install the New Fan Motor: Position the new motor into the mounting bracket. Secure it with the screws or clips you just removed.
6.Plug the wire harness into the new motor. Ensure the connection is firm and secure.
7. Reassemble the Refrigerator: Carefully snap the interior cover panel back into place. Reinstall all the screws and replace any plastic caps. Put back any shelves or drawers you removed.
8. Test the Installation: Plug the refrigerator back into the power outlet. Listen carefully. You should hear the new fan spin up immediately and run smoothly and quietly. Allow the refrigerator to run for a few hours to ensure it is cooling properly before putting food back in.
