If it isn't listed as coming with a 2-year warranty then the item is either B-stock or refurbished or sold by a non-authorized reseller. All new Onkyo receivers come with a 2 year warranty as long as the vendor is an authorized reseller.

Onkyo won't honor warranties for items sold by unauthorized sellers. They have a list of authorized retailers on their website along with a list of unauthorized retailers.

is this a THX certified?

No, if you want THX certification you must buy the TX-NR777 which is the next model up.

Is the "mic in" port just for the calibration microphone or can it be used later for other purposes - like a Karaoke mic?

As awesome as that would be, no it cannot be used as a Karaoke mic...

I think this item is refurbished because onkyo website says 2 year warranty but only 1 year on all refurbished items, and no one from the company has said on all the questions asked if this is refurbished or not? someone who sells this item answer please so I can buy it or not.

I would assume it is B-stock or refurbished. When NewEgg offers to sell this same item it clearly shows that it comes with a 2-year warranty.

Will this receiver work with Bose Acoustimass speakers ?

I have the Onkyo connected to an Acoustimass 5 Series II speaker system from the early 90's.  A Polk PSW-505 powered subwoofer is being used instead of the Acoustimass  passive sub-woofer.  It works and sounds great.
