Question 1

What is the minimum power requirement for this board?

Accepted Answer

If you go to the ASUS PSU calculator on their site under service, most configurations without a video board require a minimum of 300 watts. My build includes an IN WIN case with their 300-watt PSU and is operating perfectly. Other components include 4770K I7 CPU with stock fan, 16 gb ram, 240 gb SSD and DVDR. Even the addition of a modest video card and HDD could overtax the PSU. There are 400 and 500 watt TFX PSU's available but not as economical as ATX PSU's. My suggestion is to utilize an mATX case with 600 watt PSU, if practical, to dissipate heat more efficiently and provide additional reserve power, especially if overclocking.

Question 2

Can this motherboard support a 64-bit version of windows?

Question 4

Why is this product not on the Asus website?

Accepted Answer

Use the ALL PRODUCTS listing on the ASUS website, as it is not a featured product. This board worked great out-of-the-box for me. I used a Core i7, and 16GB Crucial Ballistix Sport memory. Portable case LianLi PC-TU200B. This is work machine for me, no video card added.

Question 5

Is this product OEM? Does it come with all the wires shown in the pictures?

Accepted Answer

I'm not sure what you mean by "Is this product OEM?" Asus is a well-known manufacturer of PC products including motherboards for PC enthusiasts who wish to assemble a custom PC rather than purchasing a pre-built model from a system builder (HP, Dell, etc.).

Yes, the motherboard comes with the magnetic-mount external antenna for WiFi+Bluetooth, and the SATA cables.

Question 6

Would I be able to simultaneously run two DVI monitors and an HDMI monitor with this motherboard? I would have to use a Display port to HDMI cable of course. Anyone know?

Accepted Answer

CONFIRMED
---------------
You CAN use three monitors on this board, natively. All at the same time.
The reason Walter B was only able to run two at once, is because of a setting in the bios which is by default turned off. Simply turning this setting on will make all three of your monitors work at the same time. Only two monitors will turn on during bios/OS loading, and they will be mirrored. Once the OS loads, all three will be active. I tested this with Windows 7 and Ubuntu 14.

I personally had minor issues while running three monitors. My HDMI output was going black randomly. I tried two monitors and two HDMI cables, with the same results. This could've still be a monitor issue seeing as both monitors were the same model. Simply changing to a HDMI to DVI cable (DVI on the monitor side), fixed the issue.

Question 7

Which aftermarket cooler are you using on this board? Were there any clearance issues?

Accepted Answer

I'm using the Noctua NH-L9I (for Intel chips) which works great and is very low profile. I could actually have supported something quite a bit taller if need be in my case which is the Fractal Node 304. The one thing to know is that the screws that hold down this cooler need to be installed from *underneath* the mobo, so you want to do that before attaching the mobo to the standins and case. (I attached everything first then had to take it all apart again to affix the fan.)
