It can connect the SAS hard diskr to SATA motherboar.
It can connect the SAS hard disk to SAS motherboard.
It can't connect the SAS hard disk to normal SATA motherboard. (it will be worked if your motherboard has the SAS chipset, Otherwise can't work.)
It can't connect the SATA hard disk to normal SAS motherboard. (it will be worked if your hard disk has the SAS chipset, Otherwise can't work.)
This SAS adapter enables you to connect a SAS HDD with SFF 8482 port to a SAS compatible SATA controller (hybrid controller).
If a SAS hard drive is to be used on a regular SATA motherboard, it must have the SATA logo; otherwise, it cannot be used
This product generally has two uses:
Separate the data and power of the SATA hard drive interface, connect the SATA interface of the motherboard and the power cord, and the connection can be made directly. Before using a SATA motherboard, some motherboards need to set the BIOS to AHCI mode (RAID mode is optional if RAID is required).
2. Separate the data and power supply of the SAS hard disk interface, connect the SAS interface SFF-8482 on the motherboard and the power cord, and the connection can be made directly.
Friendly reminder: This product cannot be used to connect SAS hard drives to the SATA ports of regular motherboards. There is no such cable either. SAS interfaces are supported by chips and cannot be achieved through cables. Please confirm this clearly (unless your SAS hard drive supports SATA mode or the SATA motherboard has a SAS chip).
Note:
To connect a SATA motherboard to a SAS hard drive, one of the following conditions must be met; otherwise, it cannot be used
Firstly, the motherboard supports SAS
2. Or you can connect an external SAS card
3. Or your SAS hard drive supports SATA mode
Convert the SAS hard drive to SATA and directly connect it to the SATA port of the motherboard.
Ordinary motherboards can also directly enjoy high-speed SAS hard drives.
