Question 1

FP280W9 or Kensington MagPro 27-inch: which is better if I remove the filter often?

Accepted Answer

The FP280W9 is sized for 28-inch, 16:9 monitors and attaches with tabs or adhesive tape. Kensington’s MagPro 27-inch, 16:9 monitor filter uses magnetic strips for quicker attachment and removal, but it is sized for 27-inch displays. Choose based on your monitor’s measured screen dimensions and whether removable magnetic mounting is more important than matching a 28-inch screen.

Question 2

Kensington FP280W9 vs. FP280W10: which one fits my 28-inch monitor?

Accepted Answer

Choose the FP280W9 for a 28-inch, 16:9 monitor and the FP280W10 for a 28-inch, 16:10 monitor. The diagonal size is the same, but the filters have different shapes and dimensions, so match the screen’s aspect ratio and measure its display area before ordering.

Question 3

Kensington FP280W9 vs. 3M PF280W9B: which 28-inch privacy filter should I choose?

Accepted Answer

Both are specified for 28-inch, 16:9 monitors and describe privacy protection across a 60-degree viewing angle. Choose the FP280W9 if its included mounting tabs or double-sided tape suit your setup; consider the 3M if its sourcing or product requirements suit you better. The published specifications do not establish an independent real-world performance advantage for either model, so confirm the filter dimensions against your monitor before buying.

Question 4

Can I use the FP280W9 on a 27-inch 16:9 monitor instead of a 27-inch filter?

Accepted Answer

For a 27-inch, 16:9 monitor, choose a filter made for that size, such as Kensington’s FP270W9. The FP280W9 is larger: its listed dimensions are about 24.49 × 13.50 inches, compared with about 23.46 × 13.19 inches for the FP270W9. Check your monitor’s visible screen dimensions, not just its aspect ratio.

Question 5

Will the privacy screen make my monitor harder to view?

Accepted Answer

The screen is reversible, with a matte side intended to reduce glare and fingerprints and a glossy side intended to provide a clearer view. Choose the side that better suits your lighting and viewing preference.

Question 6

How does the screen attach to the monitor?

Accepted Answer

It can be mounted with the included frameless tab holders for a removable setup or with double-sided tape for a more fixed attachment. Check your monitor’s bezel and mounting area before choosing the method.

Question 7

Will this privacy screen fit my monitor?

Accepted Answer

It is designed for a 28-inch widescreen monitor with a 16:9 aspect ratio. Check your monitor’s active display size and aspect ratio before buying; diagonal size alone may not confirm a fit.

Question 8

Does it keep people beside me from seeing my screen?

Accepted Answer

It is intended to reduce side viewing by limiting the viewing angle to about 30 degrees on either side. It can help protect on-screen information in shared spaces, but it should not be treated as a guarantee that nobody can see the display.
