Question 1

Will the Targus ASF215W9EMGL fit my 21.5-inch 16:9 monitor?

Accepted Answer

Choose this Targus filter if your monitor is 21.5 inches, 16:9, and has an edge-to-edge display. It is designed for that screen format; a 23.8-inch or differently proportioned monitor needs a filter made for its size and aspect ratio. Check the monitor’s active screen dimensions before ordering.

Question 2

Targus 4Vu or 3M COMPLY for a 21.5-inch 16:9 monitor?

Accepted Answer

Both options are made for 21.5-inch, 16:9 edge-to-edge monitors and specify a 60-degree privacy viewing window. Choose the Targus if you want a choice of magnetic, adhesive-strip, or flip-hinge attachment. Choose the 3M PF215W9EM if its COMPLY magnetic quick-attach system suits how you switch between private use and screen sharing.

Question 3

Should I get the Targus privacy screen or a regular anti-glare filter?

Accepted Answer

Choose the Targus when you need to limit side-angle viewing as well as reduce glare; it combines privacy louvers with an anti-reflective coating. If reflections are the only concern and you want to preserve a wide viewing angle, an anti-glare-only filter is the more suitable type.

Question 4

Targus 4Vu or Kensington EQ for a 21.5-inch 16:9 monitor?

Accepted Answer

Both are specified for 21.5-inch, 16:9 monitors and limit side viewing to about 30 degrees from either side. The Targus is the more targeted choice for an edge-to-edge monitor and offers magnetic, adhesive, and flip-hinge attachment options. The Kensington EQ is an alternative if its listed 49% post-consumer recycled plastic is a priority; it attaches with tape or tabs.

Question 5

Will this fit my monitor?

Accepted Answer

It is designed for a 21.5-inch, 16:9 edge-to-edge monitor. Check your display’s dimensions and bezel design before buying; matching the aspect ratio alone does not confirm fit.

Question 6

How much privacy does this screen provide?

Accepted Answer

It is intended to make screen content difficult to see from the side. Targus specifies a viewing range of up to 30° from either side, so it is suited to reducing side-angle viewing in shared work areas; it does not block someone looking directly at the display.

Question 7

Does this filter reduce glare?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Targus lists an anti-reflective coating to reduce screen glare. The product is also described as filtering blue light, but the available product information does not quantify the effect on glare or eye comfort.

Question 8

How does the privacy screen attach to the monitor?

Accepted Answer

The product supports magnetic attachment, adhesive strips, and adhesive flip-over hinges. Check the monitor’s bezel and installation needs to determine which included method is appropriate.
