Question 1

Should I get the LX Dual Stacking Arm Tall Pole or two single LX arms?

Accepted Answer

Choose the Dual Stacking Arm if you want two displays on one tall pole, particularly in a vertical layout. Two single LX arms let you place their desk mounts separately, which can help when you need more freedom to position side-by-side screens. Check your desk space and monitor placement before choosing.

Question 2

Is the LX Dual Stacking Arm Tall Pole suitable for two heavy monitors, or should I use Ergotron HX arms?

Accepted Answer

Choose the LX Dual Stacking Arm if each display weighs 7–20 lb and you want a two-monitor setup on one pole. If a display exceeds the LX dual arm’s 20 lb-per-monitor limit, consider a separate HX arm for that display: Ergotron rates the HX at 20–42 lb. Confirm each monitor’s weight and mount compatibility before buying.

Question 3

Ergotron LX Dual Stacking Arm Tall Pole vs. LX Dual Side-by-Side: which should I choose?

Accepted Answer

Choose the LX Dual Stacking Arm Tall Pole when you want one display above the other and want to use less desk width. Choose the LX Dual Side-by-Side when you prefer both screens at the same level. Both models support two monitors weighing 7–20 lb each; for vertical stacking, check the displays’ dimensions as well as their weight.

Question 4

Can it attach to my desk?

Accepted Answer

The product includes a desk-clamp base and grommet-mount hardware. Before purchasing, check the installation requirements against your desk’s thickness, edge shape, and any available grommet hole.

Question 5

Is it a good choice if I want to free up desk space?

Accepted Answer

It mounts two monitors on a single desk base and supports a vertical stacked arrangement, which can leave more desk surface open than placing the screens on separate stands. It still requires a suitable desk attachment point and enough vertical clearance for both monitors.

Question 6

How heavy can each monitor be?

Accepted Answer

Each of the two arms supports a monitor weighing 7–20 lb. Confirm the monitor’s weight without its stand and check that it has a compatible 75 × 75 mm or 100 × 100 mm VESA mounting pattern.

Question 7

Will it support two large monitors stacked vertically?

Accepted Answer

It is designed for two stacked displays, with a typical screen-size limit of up to 40 inches and a weight range of 7–20 lb per arm. Check each monitor’s weight, VESA pattern, and physical height before buying; the 40-inch figure alone does not guarantee that two particular screens will fit comfortably when stacked.

Question 8

Is the tall pole high enough for two stacked monitors?

Accepted Answer

Not for every desk and monitor combination. Users recommend measuring the desired screen positions, since the pole’s height and monitor sizes determine whether both displays can be placed comfortably. Check Ergotron’s dimensional drawing against your setup before buying.

Question 9

Will the top monitor tilt downward enough for a stacked setup?

Accepted Answer

Downward tilt may be limited: users discussing the LX Tall Pole report that its standard pivot can restrict downward tilt on the upper display. If that angle is important, confirm the range meets your needs before purchase; community-described modifications are not a manufacturer-approved fit guarantee.

Question 10

Is the LX Dual Stacking Tall Pole worth choosing over a cheaper mount?

Accepted Answer

Reddit users describe it as sturdy for stacked displays but also note that it costs more. Those are individual experiences, not a guarantee of performance; weigh the reported stability against your budget and verify monitor compatibility before deciding.
