Question 1

does it have 3 8 pin pcie connections?

Accepted Answer

Yes. There are 3 2x6 pcie cables.

Question 2

How reliable is the Power Monte Century II 1050 R for long-term use in high-performance PCs?

Accepted Answer

Yes — the MONTECH CENTURY II 1050W is designed for long-term use in high-performance PCs. It features high-quality Japanese capacitors, full ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 compatibility, and a solid 10-year warranty, which all point to dependable and durable performance over time.

It does, with one caveat: while its 80 Plus Gold and Cybenetics Platinum certifications ensure efficient power delivery and good thermal management, make sure your build matches the power output you need. If you’re running extremely power-hungry multi-GPU setups or overclocking heavily, you might want to consider even higher wattage or specialized PSUs optimized for those loads.

Question 3

Is the Power Monte|Century II 1050 R a reliable power supply for high-end gaming PCs?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the MONTECH CENTURY II 1050W is a reliable power supply for high-end gaming PCs, with an 80 Plus Gold and Cybenetics Platinum efficiency rating ensuring stable and efficient power delivery. It supports the latest standards like ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1, making it future-proof for powerful GPUs and CPUs.

It does, with one caveat: while it’s fully modular and equipped with high-quality Japanese capacitors and extensive protections, consider your total system power draw and whether 1050W is necessary or overkill for your specific build. For most high-end gaming setups, it offers plenty of headroom, but if you’re running extreme multi-GPU setups, double-check your wattage needs.

Question 4

What are the wattage and efficiency ratings of the Power Monte|Century II 1050 R power supply?

Accepted Answer

The MONTECH CENTURY II power supply has a wattage of 1050W and carries an 80 Plus Gold efficiency rating, along with Cybenetics Platinum certification. This means it provides reliable power with good energy efficiency, which can help reduce electricity use and heat output compared to lower-rated units.

Keep in mind that while 1050W is plenty for most high-end gaming setups, actual power draw depends on your components. If you’re running multiple GPUs or heavily overclocking, this PSU offers headroom and stability. For standard builds, it’s a bit overkill but future-proofs your system well.

Question 5

How does the Power Monte|Century II 1050 R perform in supporting stable gaming power delivery at 1080p compared to the Corsair RM1050x power supply?

Accepted Answer

The MONTECH CENTURY II 1050W delivers stable and efficient power for 1080p gaming, much like the Corsair RM1050x, thanks to its 80 Plus Gold and Cybenetics Platinum certifications. Both offer fully modular designs and ample wattage to support high-end GPUs and CPUs without bottlenecks in power delivery.

One key difference is MONTECH’s use of a 135mm FDB fan with zero RPM mode, which may provide quieter operation under low to medium loads compared to the RM1050x’s fan. If noise level is a priority during lighter gaming sessions, this might be a slight edge. Otherwise, their performance and reliability specs are closely matched.

Question 6

What improvements in efficiency and power delivery does the Power Monte|Century II 1050 R offer compared to the previous model?

Accepted Answer

The MONTECH CENTURY II 1050W improves efficiency with dual certification — 80 Plus Gold and Cybenetics Platinum — meaning it delivers cleaner, more consistent power than its predecessor while running cooler and quieter. The inclusion of ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 compatibility also means it supports the latest power delivery standards, which is important for high-end GPUs and CPUs needing stable current at higher wattages.

Keep in mind that the fully modular design and 100% Japanese capacitors enhance reliability and cable management, but if you're upgrading from a lower wattage PSU, the efficiency gains are most noticeable under load. This PSU excels in builds where maximum and consistent power is demanded, such as for overclocking or multi-GPU setups, though the bigger size and premium components might mean a slightly higher price point compared to older models.

Question 7

How do I properly install the Power Monte|Century II 1050 R power supply in my desktop PC?

Accepted Answer

To install the MONTECH CENTURY II 1050W power supply, you simply screw it into the PSU space in your desktop case using the provided mounting points, then connect the modular cables to your components. It’s fully modular and supports latest standards like ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1, so it fits modern builds and powers new GPUs with its 12V-2x6 cable.

Keep cable routing in mind to optimize airflow, especially since it has a 135mm silent fan with zero RPM mode for quiet operation. If your case is compact or older, double-check there’s enough clearance for the larger power supply and cables. The 10-year warranty also means you can be confident in its long-term durability.

Question 8

How does the Power Monte|Century II 1050 R compare to the Seasonic Focus GX-850 in terms of efficiency and reliability?

Accepted Answer

The MONTECH CENTURY II 1050W offers 80 Plus Gold and Cybenetics Platinum efficiency, which generally means it’s slightly more efficient than the Seasonic Focus GX-850, which is 80 Plus Gold certified as well. In terms of reliability, MONTECH provides a 10-year warranty and uses 100% Japanese capacitors, putting it on par or potentially better due to the longer warranty and high-quality components.

One thing to consider is that the MONTECH supports the latest ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards, which could be more future-proof for newer gaming builds. However, the Seasonic Focus GX-850 has a strong reputation for consistent performance and often a quieter operation in real-world use. If your build requires higher wattage and future compatibility, MONTECH might be the better choice, but if you prioritize established reliability and slightly lower wattage needs, the Seasonic is solid.

Question 9

Does the Power Monte|Century II 1050 R PSU have 80 Plus Gold efficiency, fully modular cables, and a 12VHPWR connector?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the MONTECH CENTURY II - 1050W High-End ATX Gaming Power Supply is 80 Plus Gold certified and has fully modular cables. It is also compatible with the latest platforms, featuring a 12V-2x6 cable.

Question 10

Is the Power Monte|Century II 1050 R suitable for an upgrade from a lower watt PSU?

Accepted Answer

The MONTECH CENTURY II - 1050W High-End ATX Gaming Power Supply has a maximum power of 1050 W, which makes it suitable for systems that require higher wattage, potentially allowing for an upgrade from a lower watt PSU.
