Does anyone know if this will run 13th gen out of the box?

It worked for me out of the box, 13900KS. I was able to enter BIOS without a hitch. I downloaded latest bios from another computer on thumb drive and then updated BIOS on EVGA Z690 Dark. The USB drive that comes with the board is nice to have to update to latest drivers as of board release date.

$550 for a z690 and there are only 2 ram slots? where are the other slots?

Easier on the memory controller to overclock. But I am sure it still will dominate with 64GB or RAM. On a different point, who the heck ever wanted a 900 dollar motherboard after taxes and shipping.
