Im looking to use this for everyday use as well as for my software development classes. Would you recommend this to a student?

I also picked this laptop up for school work. I'm not running anything heavy enough to really test out its capabilities, but so far, it's holding up well. Had a little trouble with the touch screen not working on a few startups, but it got better after updates. Hope this helps.

It handles Photoshop great...don't know about Illustrator, but I'm sure it will do fine, I've used Vegas Pro on it and it also works great.

I want to play over watch on this, as well as a few older games. Can I do this?

I haven't played many newer games, but I CAN say that it struggles to hit 60 fps on Minecraft. Most of the time it's in the 50's or lower, and that's at idle with nothing really going on or just walking around.

By my guess, No, it probably cannot handle overwatch at any acceptable standard.
