The Lenovo ThinkCentre M90q Gen 6 is a compact Windows 11 Pro desktop for students and home-office users who want a capable everyday workstation in a tiny 2.95-pound chassis, with an Intel Core Ultra 5 235, 16GB DDR5 memory, and a 256GB NVMe SSD.
Recommended For
- Office and home-office workers who want a compact, stationary Windows 11 Pro PC for everyday business apps, multitasking, and a desk with limited space.
- People building a tidy multi-monitor workstation for documents, dashboards, or communication apps; the M90q Gen 6 platform supports multiple displays, subject to the model’s available video outputs.
- Small businesses and IT teams that need a compact desktop for managed workstations, with business-oriented Windows Pro features and wired Ethernet.
- Users who want a small desktop that can sit vertically, fit into a compact workspace, or be mounted out of the way with a compatible VESA setup.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- For everyday home-office or study work—documents, spreadsheets, web apps, and several browser tabs—the M90q Gen 6 is positioned as a compact desktop for routine productivity, rather than graphics-intensive work.
- At a desk with separate screens for email, spreadsheets, and reference material, its HDMI and two DisplayPort outputs can support a multi-monitor setup, reducing the need to keep switching between windows.
- For video meetings alongside office or school tasks, it can serve as the desktop for the call and the surrounding work; the monitor, webcam, and other meeting accessories need to be supplied separately.
- In a small home office or shared workspace, the Tiny chassis can keep the computer itself off a crowded desk; connect it to a separate monitor, since this model has no built-in screen.
- For someone starting a small home lab, it can be considered for a few lightweight services or experiments, but this 16 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD configuration is better suited to modest workloads than to hosting many virtual machines or large data stores.
