Overall Review: Got two, ones been humming along for 2 months now recording semi constantly, other been using as a media server. both work, PnP, no complaints. Also works well with Blue Iris, both the app for alerts and through teh software on teh NAT

We're sorry to hear about your experience with WD Gold Enterprise Class internal hard drive and thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. There could be a few causes due to which the drive is not working. The drive itself could have failed, the partition on the drive may be damaged.

As a troubleshooting step, it is recommended to connect the drive as the secondary drive with a computer using SATA cable and perform the diagnostics with the Data Lifeguard Diagnostics for Windows or First Aid using Disk Utility on Mac. You can refer the link mentioned below and follow the instructions given to run a test on the drive using Data Lifeguard Diagnostics for Windows or First Aid using Disk Utility on Mac.

Pros: Got this at a steal of a price ($80)!
Runs just as quiet as any other drives I've used and has been incredibly reliable.

Cons: none yet

Overall Review: I bought this on a whim to test out its functionality in a gaming rig and I'm upset I didn't grab a few more for that rig and my workstation.

Solid drive, no issues in 8 months 3/4/2019 1:11:05 AM

Pros: -Takes maybe 6 seconds to spin up when it's been idle, great read/write speed (~100mb/s extracting a giant zip archive from a separate SSD)
-Makes the dying cow noise when your PC shuts off which I find amusing

Cons: -Not extremely loud as some people say, however if you're doing hardcore reading/writing you can't ignore it. But aside from specifically operating on large/many files your PC is generally not making the drive work 24/7 so it'll be tiny muffled ticks that almost blend in with your case fans. I personally am not bothered at all by any of the sound this drive makes.

Overall Review: My case is on a wood base which rests on a carpet, I imagine that absorbs/muffles a lot of the vibration and ticking. If your case was resting on a non-carpeted floor or desk, hardcore file operations would probably be louder.

Pros: • Reliable
• Designed to run 24x7 for years

Cons: • Not completely silent during read/write
• Makes the famous "dying cow" sound as it parks the heads (when the HDD is powered off)

Overall Review: Datacenters run WD enterprise-class HDDs for years and then (if they don't shred the HDDs) sometimes sell them as used HDDs which is why "refurbished" RE2, RE4, etc. drives have been available from Newegg. These drives tend not to fail. Two WD Gold 1TB drives which I purchased from Newegg more than a year ago behave identically and have had no problems.

Cons: Ordered this harddrive on 12/12/2018 and card charged immediately, still no tracking data since China. Am now sceptical about trusting data on this drive. Had to buy another drive locally. Either deliver or cancel this order.

Neweggs customer support phone is so busy I wonder if everyone else is having the same problem. Message states 24 minute wait time. REALLY!
