Testing the M.A.P. Sensor Circuit
If the LCD reading is abnormal, the sensor circuit may have a fault.
- 1. In AC Voltage mode, use the probe tip with the chassis or auxiliary ground.
- 2. Connect a vacuum pump to the MAP sensor.
- 3. Touch the probe tip to the positive terminal of the MAP sensor and monitor the LCD reading, which should display a sine wave under normal conditions.
- 4. Apply vacuum and observe changes on the LCD to confirm proper sensor operation.
