This ADTRAN 1700486F1 compatible SFP+ transceiver carries 10GBASE-LR and 10GBASE-LW traffic up to 10 kilometers over single-mode fiber, operating at 1310nm through an LC duplex interface. Built-in Digital Optical Monitoring reports temperature, voltage, and optical power in real time, so a degrading link shows up before it drops.
The module meets the SFP+ MSA, SFF-8431, SFF-8432, and IEEE 802.3ae standards, so it interoperates cleanly in mixed-vendor networks. It suits NetVanta switch uplinks, service provider access nodes, campus backbones, building-to-building fiber runs, and metro area links. Every unit is programmed with ADTRAN EEPROM coding and tested in ADTRAN 10G hardware before it ships, so the port recognizes it exactly as it would the OEM 1700486F1, at a much lower price.
