This Dell Force10 GP-10GSFP-1L compatible SFP+ transceiver carries 10GBASE-LR and 10GBASE-LW traffic up to 10 kilometers over single-mode fiber, operating at 1310nm through an LC duplex interface. Built-in Digital Optical Monitoring reports temperature, voltage, and optical power in real time, so a degrading link shows up before it drops.
The module meets the SFP+ MSA, SFF-8431, SFF-8432, and IEEE 802.3ae standards, so it interoperates cleanly in mixed-vendor networks. It suits Force10 and PowerSwitch uplinks, campus backbones, building-to-building fiber runs, metro area links, and data center interconnects. Every unit is programmed with Dell EEPROM coding and tested in Dell 10G switches, servers, and network interface cards before it ships, so the port recognizes it exactly as it would the OEM GP-10GSFP-1L, at a much lower price.
