Avago AFBR-709SMZ Compatible 10GBASE-SR SFP+ Transceiver Module (MMF, 850nm, 300m, LC, DOM)
This Avago AFBR-709SMZ compatible SFP+ transceiver carries 10GBASE-SR and 10GBASE-SW traffic over multimode fiber at 850nm through an LC duplex interface, reaching 300 meters on OM3, 400 meters on OM4, and 82 meters on older OM2. The AFBR-709 series is a widely qualified SR part, which is why many switch and adapter vendors list it as a supported optic.
Avago (now Broadcom) sells standards-based optics rather than vendor-coded modules, so this one ships uncoded to the SFP+ MSA and works in open networking platforms, white-box switches, server adapters, media converters, and any MSA-compliant equipment. Built-in Digital Optical Monitoring reports temperature, voltage, and optical power in real time, so a dirty connector or fading transmitter shows up before it drops a link. The module meets SFF-8431, SFF-8432, SFF-8472, and IEEE 802.3ae for clean interoperation with whatever optic sits at the far end.
