NetApp X6589-R6 Compatible 10GBASE-SR SFP+ Transceiver Module (MMF, 850nm, 300m, LC, DOM)
Connect NetApp controllers to switching over multimode fiber without paying OEM prices. This X6589-R6 compatible SFP+ transceiver carries 10GBASE-SR and 10GBASE-SW traffic at 850nm through an LC duplex interface, reaching 300 meters on OM3, 400 meters on OM4, and 82 meters on older OM2. Controllers and shelves usually sit in the same hall as the switches they uplink to, so that reach covers data and cluster links with room to spare.
Built-in Digital Optical Monitoring reports temperature, voltage, and optical power in real time. On storage traffic, a degrading link often shows up as latency long before it fails outright, so early visibility helps. The module meets the SFP+ MSA, SFF-8431, SFF-8432, and IEEE 802.3ae standards for clean interoperation with whatever optic sits at the far end.
Every unit is programmed with NetApp EEPROM coding and tested in NetApp 10G storage systems and network interface cards before it ships, so the port recognizes it exactly as it would the OEM X6589-R6.
