This SFP-P-4DH compatible SFP+ transceiver carries 10GBASE-SR and 10GBASE-SW traffic at 850nm through an LC duplex interface, reaching 300 meters on OM3, 400 meters on OM4, and 82 meters on older OM2. At a carrier demarcation point or service provider access node, the link to nearby aggregation gear stays inside the same room or building, so that reach is more than enough.

Built-in Digital Optical Monitoring reports temperature, voltage, and optical power in real time, so a dirty connector or fading transmitter shows up before it affects a customer service. The module meets the SFP+ MSA, SFF-8431, SFF-8432, and IEEE 802.3ae standards for clean interoperation with whatever optic sits at the far end.
